Holiday Ale Old Fashioned

Take The Road Less Traveled this season with a twist on a classic cocktail—the Holiday Ale Old Fashioned. This easy-to-make drink combines the boldness of whiskey or bourbon with the festive flair of Holiday Ale Syrup and a hint of orange bitters. Let’s dive into how it’s made:

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz Whiskey or Bourbon
  • 3/4 oz Holiday Ale Syrup*
  • 3-4 Dashes Orange Bitters
  • Ice cubes
  • Orange peel, for garnish

The Craft:

  1. Holiday Ale Syrup:
    • Combine 1 can of Holiday Ale, 1 cup of dark brown sugar, 2 cinnamon sticks, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract in a saucepan.
    • Bring to a boil, then simmer until reduced by half.
    • Cool completely before use.
  2. Holiday Ale Old Fashioned:
    • In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz whiskey or bourbon with 3/4 oz Holiday Ale Syrup.
    • Add 3-4 dashes of orange bitters.
    • Fill the glass with ice, stir for 8-10 seconds.
  3. Presentation:
    • Strain into a rocks glass with ice.
    • Express the oils from an orange peel over the drink and drop it in.
