This fall, we’ve conjured up something truly special—our first-ever whiskey born from the beloved barrel-aged pumpkin ale, Roadsmary’s Baby.
Distilled from our 2021 batch of Roadsmary’s Baby beer, this whiskey spent 32 months aging in charred American oak barrels, before being finished in the very same barrels that held our 2024 Roadsmary’s Baby beer.
“It’s an unusual approach, making this whiskey totally unique to Two Roads” says Phil Markowski, our Head Distiller & Brewmaster.
The result? A complex, malt-forward whiskey with notes of vanilla, oak, and caramel, complemented by hints of cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice, boasting a bracing 45% ABV. Its rich color and depth of flavor comes from charred American white oak barrels, which contribute color, flavor and act as a natural filter to mellow and refine the whiskey during the aging process.
Like all things at Two Roads, the inspiration behind this whiskey has a true Road Less Traveled story. When we first acquired our stills and began crafting vodka and gin, Markowski thought, “Why not make one of our beers into a whiskey?”
If you were lucky enough to secure a bottle, Markowski recommends enjoying it neat or adding a touch of ice. Feeling adventurous? Try a Roadsmary’s Baby Boilermaker by having the whiskey alongside a glass of Roadsmary’s Baby beer.
“I think we’re onto something,” Markowski says. “This whiskey is 110% Two Roads and could not be replicated anywhere else. I’m really proud of how it turned out and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do.”
If you missed out on getting a bottle this year, don’t fret—Markowski already has the next several years of Roadsmary’s Whiskey aging in barrels. This one-of-a-kind whiskey will be vintage-dated and released once a year, in October.
