AREA TWO’S BRETT NOIR MAKES BEST BEER OF 2019 LIST!

Area Two Experimental Brewing’s Brett Noir was just named one of top 25 Beers of 2019 by Wine Enthusiast.

Author and reviewer Lauren Buzzeo of Wine Enthusiast said, “this list represents the most impressive, interesting and exciting beers we had the pleasure to review throughout 2019.”

Making #15 on the list, Buzzeo said of Brett Noir, “this tasty exercise bridges the wine and beer worlds.” Brett Noir is fermented with pinot noir grapes and Brett Bruxellensis yeast, and then aged nine months in French Limousin Oak and American White Oak foudres sourced from two venerated Napa Valley vintners. It’s a complex, dramatic ale with mild, funky fruit and wine flavors at 6.5%.

Buzzeo writes, “has a pronounced vinous character, with notes of tart cherry, balsamic herbs, pink apple, lemon pith and dry, oaky spice. It’s tangy and refreshing, with a cleansing pucker followed by an evolving finish that offers notes of leather, dried orange blossom and cocoa-dusted cherry skin.”
